What is GATE Examination


banner_gate GATE is a national level entrance exam conducted for the admission in post graduate courses in various engineering colleges of India. The IISc (Indian Institute of Science) and seven IITs (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) jointly conduct and administer GATE. The GATE-related operations are managed by 8 zones, which are managed by a zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc. Each year an Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination amongst the administering Institutes. For year-2014, The Organizing Institute is "IIT Kharagpur".
  • The Eight Zones for G.A.T.E. Exam conduction are :

GATE exam is conducted for a total 21 papers, out of which candidate is free to choose any paper according to his/her admission planning.
